DIY All Purpose Cleaner

When we began our "getting healthy" journey, like most, we started with our diet. Slowly, we learned about the health benefits that come from removing toxins in our home. A major toxin in homes come from cleaners. They can cause major health problems like asthma or even cancer! I know almost everything causes cancer, if you read health news very much you have probably seen this trend. If I can avoid a cause I will. I started buying plant based natural cleaners but the price is outrageous and we needed something more economical.

Gleaning from a host of information including: Herbal Academy of New England, Dr. Axe, and various articles I decided to make my own based on the ingredients I keep on hand. The following ALL NATURAL ALL PURPOSE CLEANER disinfects, is antimicrobial, and a deodorizer. I use it in every room, in the kitchen on my counters, in the bathroom and spray it on the floor to mop.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Vinegar (any kind will do)

1 Tablespoon Bronner's Liquid Castile Soap

20 drops Lemon Essential Oil (deodorizer)

20 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil (antimicrobial)

Water

Directions:

In a regular size spray bottle (around 24 ounces) combine the vinegar, soap, lemon and tea tree oils. Add water to finish filling bottle. Give it a shake before each use to mix the ingredients.

For areas that need extra elbow grease to remove the hard water build up or soap scum, I use baking soda and dish soap. The tub is the #1 place we clean with these ingredients. Sprinkle baking soda in the tub and squirt dish soap on top of the baking soda. Using a rag or soft bristle brush mix these power scrubbers together working your way over the bottom and up the sides. You will be amazed how easy it is to clean the tub and sink and the best part...NO CHEMICALS, NO BLEACH! Come out of the bathroom able to breathe. I remember, in the old days, cleaning the bathroom and coming out to get a fresh breath from the bleach.

Hopefully, you have been inspired to DIY your cleaners and have 1 less toxin in your home. Thanks for stopping by! Please sign up for our email to get fresh updates from the farm.

Blessings to you,
