Chia Tea Mix

A few years ago I sadly had to give up coffee. I did find a replacement that I now prefer over coffee! What!? It's true. I started with chia tea bags and slowly switched to making my own spice mix. It's cheaper to make my own. I buy organic spices, measure and store in a glass jar with a lid. When I'm ready for a cup I measure into my cup and add a black tea bag. My favorite tea with chia is oolong but any black tea will do.

For this mix I lean to a more spicy flavor but if you're a cinnamon fan just add more cinnamon than ginger. Common spices most chia mixes have are the following dried spices: ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, clove, back pepper. This tea is great for your digestion. It aids your digestion if you drink a cup following a meal.

Ingredients:

2 Tablespoons Ginger

1 Tablespoon Cardamom

1 Tablespoon Cinnamon

2 teaspoons Clove

1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper

Directions:

Place spices in a jar with a lid. Shake to mix. Place desired amount in cup (I use 3/4 teaspoon of mix) If you like a stronger taste or bigger cup go for 2 teaspoons. Pour boiling water over mix and a black teabag. Cover and steep 3-5 minutes.

Discard teabag. Strain spices from tea. Add honey and milk for your perfect cup of chia tea!

Let me know how you enjoy your chia tea. Thanks for reading!

Blessings,

Alisha
