Buckwheat Porridge

Buckwheat Porridge is a favorite of my family. I buy buckwheat groats and soak overnight. Measure out your desired amount, soak in, at least, double the amount of water, and 1 tablespoon appl

e cider vinegar (with the "Mother"). Use 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar per 8 ounces. After cooking I use the emulsion blender to make smooth. These are rough estimate measurements.

2 cups soaked buckwheat groats

water to cover

1/2 cup coconut milk

Optional flavorings we like:

2 teaspoons maple syrup or raw honey

1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder

dab of butter per bowl

blueberries

banana

Cook desired amount of groats in water, bringing to a boil, then lower heat to simmer 20 minutes. Once cooked use emulsion blender to smooth. Add coconut milk and stir. Fill your bowl and add your favorite condiments. Enjoy!
